Resources and Books

Resources and Books (I am an Amazon Affiliate -thank you)

Resources for Piano Games (Counter games for black and white keys and fast and slow touch, animal rubbers/erasers to learn the names of the keys and have a bit of fun :)

Books for Beginners (Keyboard Books are a fun way to start and good for learning chords and melody, if you want a more traditional book to start reading music and work towards piano grades then Me and My Piano works well as an Adult Learner I like It's Never Too Late to Play Piano), once you can read music a bit then Rhythm & Blues has some great tunes)

First Piano Exams (as well as traditional exams you can now take them online with Trinity and ABRSM

Trinity give you a little longer on each grade and offer an Initital grade to get started with 3 short pieces, and selection of scales/exercises right up to Grade 8 -you'll find lots of help and performance of the pieces online with Julian Lambert by Grade 3 you may want the extended edition for more choice on the ebook

ABRSM Peformance from Grade 1 with  3 pieces plus one of your choice - this one is going to be popular!

with ABRSM beyond Grade 5 you have to take a theory exam of some sort before taking Grades 6, 7 and 8 )
